
Description: A brief introduction to colored noise, that is, random numbers that are correlated will be presented. Colored noise is ubiquitous in computational science & engineering, but its significance is not widely appreciated. We will mention several historical examples, then discuss some algorithms & tools available in PET to both analyze & generate colored noise, and end with some numerical examples.
