Description: This seminar is an introduction to basic tuning parameters available on the MPI implementations in the HPCMP (HPE/Cray MPICH, OpenMPI, HPE/SGI MPT) and the relevant parameters for the underlying fabrics used by those MPI stacks. It will also briefly introduce MPI profiling to isolate or confirm whether MPI communication is indeed a bottleneck and how to potentially narrow to specific operation types or code sections.
