Description: Fortran and MATLAB are both often used in scientific coding. There are times where a Fortran code calculates faster than MATLAB but the user needs to generate graphics or analyses from the output generated by Fortran. Instead of running a Fortran code separately, MATLAB has the ability to compile Fortran code to be native functions with MEX.
This seminar will compile Fortran subroutine to be run within MATLAB using MATLAB’s MEX compiler. Each step will be broken down on how to set up the MEX script with a Fortran subroutine, compile the script, then run the new function within MATLAB.
