Description: While MATLAB is a good interpreter coding software, there are limits to the size of and speed at which code can run, especially with complex mathematics. Fortran has been used to code mathematics since its inception in the late 1950’s. It can do complex calculations with large datasets faster than MATLAB and Python. Fortran works with MPI to be used on HPC systems. This training will provide a brief introduction and usage of Fortran for researchers with a background in MATLAB.
