
Description: This seminar will help users better understand how to use PETSc (Portable, Extensible Toolkit for Scientific Computation) linear solvers, including gaining a better understanding of how these solvers work and how to get the best performance for these solvers. This will include examples showing how to use the PETSc implementations of many sparse linear solvers and preconditioners, discussion of how these solvers tend to perform on HPC systems at larger core counts, and performance experiments demonstrating their performance on HPCMP systems.
