Description: The TAU Performance System and ParaTools ThreadSpotter are demonstrated to identify code regions which exhibit poor data movement performance and to identify specific code changes which will improve data movement performance. (PP-CFD-KY09-001-P3 D9)
Presenter(s): Sameer Shende and Nicholas Chaimov, ParaTools, Inc.

Additional Notes: In recent generations of high performance computers, compute performance has been increasing at a much greater rate than memory bandwidth, resulting in data movement becoming a bottleneck. In proposed architectures for future exascale systems, this trend continues. Data movement optimization is therefore key in realizing maximum performance on current and next-generation DoD systems.
